Celebrating the classic Mojito

Food & Drink

As i am building my portfolio for food and drink photography, i am choosing recipes and ingredients that i love. The Mojito is a much loved cocktail originating from Cuba which consists of white rum, sugar, limes, soda water and mint with plenty of ice and a generous amount of muddling.\r\n\r\nFor this shot i placed a large sheet of black perspex onto my dining room table and hung some black cloth from my background support system. On a floor stand close to the  background was a bowens head with a backlite reflector attached to give a lovely gradient, in this case a very subtle one on lowest power.\r\n\r\nThe main light is to the right hand side with a standard 7 inch reflector with grid, this light really brings out the detail in the glass.\r\n\r\nTo the left hand side is the third light with snoot attached, this i aimed at the lime wedge and chopped mint on the left hand side of shot to give a rim light.\r\n\r\nA lot more food photography to come in the near future, including a personal Conceptual Food Project on world foods.
